India stocks, rupee, swaps, call at 0735 GMT
MUMBAI, Aug 24 (Reuters) - STOCKS: The benchmark BSE Sensex .BSESN fell 44.29 points, or 0.08%, to 58,987.01, while the broader NSE index .NSEI lost 9.6 points, or 0.05%, to 17,567.9 in a choppy trading session. Broader markets declined on worries over a hawkish message from the Federal Reserve at this week's Jackson Hole symposium. IT stocks continued to drag in India, with Tata Consultancy Services TCS.NS falling almost 1%
RUPEE: The Indian rupee strengthened 0.12% to 79.77 versus the U.S. currency, as exporters sold greenback.
GOVERNMENT BONDS: Benchmark 10-year bonds IN065432G=CC were quoted at 94.98 rupees, with yields rising to 7.2858% versus previous close of 7.2811% as a surge in oil prices fed into inflation concerns. OVERNIGHT INDEXED SWAPS: The one-year overnight indexed swap rate INRAMONMI1Y= was unchanged at 6.19%, while the benchmark five-year swap rate INRSMONMI5Y= stayed fixed to 6.35%.
CALL MONEY/REPOS: India's overnight call money INROND= rate was down 15 bps at 5.15% against 5.30% in the previous session. The overnight TREPS rate INTREPTOT=TCCL was at 5.22%, compared with the previous day's weighted average of 5.1984%.
